Manoa snack shack is a locally owned and operated snack company based out of Honolulu, Hawaii. It all started as a small concession business by the name of Mel’s Concessions. Melanie Tsuruda began roasting cinnamon Glazed candied nuts over 10 years ago for events at the Blaisedell Arena, Blaisedell Exhibition Hall, Blaisedell Concert Hall, the Stan Sheriff Center, and Les Murakami Stadium. She originally began as a cashier for some side money but quickly saw an opportunity to scale up and bought the business. That tiny nutty business gained a foothold in the local community as people began to recognize the speed of service, the kind hospitality, and the value of Mel’s products over the other limited vendors available. Today Mel’s Concessions has over tripled in size and has sold thousands of pounds of delicious and nutritious cinnamon glazed candied nuts. We are happy to finally announce the opening of our online store, Manoa Snack Shack.
